Wintery beach Walks

Take a trip to the beautiful Compton Bay in Freshwater, watch the surfers against the rough seas, and enjoy fossil hunting with the family.

Stroll along Appley beach, which is open of the islands most popular beaches. Discover Appley tower which was built in the 1870’s and get a good view of the spinnaker tower and Portsmouth. Enjoy a coffee in the popular Dell café and watch the wind surfers.

Explore The Duver in St. Helens, one of the most popular places to take the kids crabbing in the salt rock pools. Take a stroll across the sand dunes and have some lunch at The Duver café with views of Bembridge harbour.

Take the kids out for a fun day out at the Wild heart animal sanctuary, Isle of wight Monkey Haven and the donkey sanctuary, these are open all year round and great value for all the family.

Take a trip to the new Harvey Browns farm shop & café with island local foods and farm grown produce. Harvey Browns sits at the heart of our four-generation farm deep in the Island’s Arreton Valley this is the perfect outing for a wintery afternoon.

One of the islands most popular and oldest pubs is the Blacksmiths is Carisbrooke, with stunning views of the western Solent you can enjoy local produce pub food and local ales. This is the perfect cosy pub for a wintery day.

The Chequers inn located in Rookley is in the perfect location surrounded by countryside walks perfect to explore the Island. The pub started running in 1799 called the ‘The Star’. The pub is well known for it’s popular Sunday Carvery and offers a B&B.
